The cornerstone for Böhm Fertigungstechnik Suhl GmbH was laid with the takeover of the manufacturing business of the Zeiss Group in 1991. The business had a solid basis in manufacturing technology and an outstanding potential of qualified staff. Building on that, the business was able to develop rapidly, and today is leading in the fields of equipment and special mechanical manufacturing, electronics, handling systems and manufacturing lines. Since 2005, Böhm Fertigungstechnik Suhl GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Böhm AG, headquarted in Zella-Mehlis. The company works the internatinal market with own subsidiaries in Turkey and Slovakia.

With enormous investment and consequent innovation, the changeover from parts supplier to developer and producer of complex solutions has now been implemented. Böhm Fertigungstechnik Suhl GmbH today occupies almost 200 employees and covers all segments, e. g. development and design, planning, construction, laboratory tests, manufacturing and installation on site as well as purchase and logistic management for key accounts. The company offers solutions for complex tasks from one source together with highest quality standards.

In 2008, several new projects have been started and Böhm Fertigungstechnik Suhl GmbH getting started business as system supplier in solar sector.

The changeover from parts supplier to innovative developer and technology producer of complex solutions has now been implemented. Enormous investment in know-how and development, as well as upgrading of the machine park and the production facilities, was effected in order to re-position the business and become competitive. Today, with the latest degree of technology, the business can confidently look ahead to the future.
